God-Right-Here

By Joey Velasco

This was the answer Job gave to Yahweh:
I know that you are all powerful;  no plan of yours can be thwarted.
I spoke of things I did not understand,
too wonderful for me to know.
My ears had heard of you,
but now my eyes have seen you.
Therefore I retract all I have said and in dust and ashes I repent.

Yahweh blessed Job's latter days much more than his earlier ones.  He came to own fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she-donkeys.  He was also blessed with seven sons and three daughters.  The first daughter he named Dove, the second Cinnamon, and the third Bottle of Perfume.  Nowhere in the land was there found any woman who could compare in beauty with Job's daughers.  Their father granted them an inheritance along with their brothers.

Job lived a hundred and forty years;  he saw his children and their children to the fourth generation.

Job 42:1-3,5-6,12-16

Walk In His Footsteps

From http://hersilent-thoughts.blogspot.com

"It was then that a young man approached him and asked, 'Master, what good work must I do to receive eternal life?'  Jesus answered, 'Why do you ask me about what is good?  One only is good.  If you want to enter eternal life, keep the commandments.'  The young man said, 'Which commandments?'  Jesus replied, 'Do not kill, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not bear false witness, honor your father and mother, and love your neighbor as yourself.'

"The young man said to him, 'I have kept all these commandments.  What is still lacking?'  Jesus answered, 'If you wish to be perfect, go and sell all that you possess and give the money to the poor, and you will become the owner of a treasure in heaven.  Then come back and follow me.'

"On hearing this answer, the young man went away sad, for he was a man of great wealth."

Matthew 19:16-22

"Lord Jesus, help me overcome my fear.  Give me a fresh perspective and the strength to endure."

Empowering Love

Canon EOS 350D

"Let us love, then, because he first loved us.

"Anyone who says 'I love God' and hates his brother, is a liar, since whoever does not love the brother whom he can see cannot love God whom he has not seen. Indeed this is the commandment we have received from him, that whoever loves God, must also love his brother.

"Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is a child of God, and whoever loves the father loves the son. In this way we know that we love God's children, when we love God and keep his commandments.

"This is what the love of God is: keeping his commandments. Nor are his commandments burdensome, because every child of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world -- our faith."

1 JOHN 4:19-5:4

"Lord Jesus, let Your love continue to empower me! Amen."
